Iran Views Syria's National Dialogue Conference as a Step in the Right Direction
Iran has welcomed the start of Syria's National Dialogue Conference, considering it a positive step towards resolving the country's crisis. Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani, Iran's special envoy for Syrian affairs, expressed his country's support for the conference, emphasizing its importance for the Islamic Republic.
Sheibani stated, "The current political developments in Syria are significant for the Islamic Republic of Iran." He added that the conference's final statement, particularly its emphasis on ending Israel's occupation of Syrian territories, reflects the necessity and urgency for a new Syria.
The Iranian envoy expressed hope that the conference would encompass broader segments of Syrian society and provide maximum benefits for the Syrian people.
The National Dialogue Conference's final statement condemned Israel's incursions into Syrian territory and demanded the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Israeli forces. The statement also emphasized the importance of citizenship, rejecting all forms of discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, or sect, and striving for equal opportunities, free from sectarian and ethnic quotas.
The conference aims to lay the groundwork for the next phase of Syria's development and craft a national vision that reflects the aspirations of all Syrians.
