 Munich Attack: Prosecutors Point to Jihadist Motive 

In a shocking incident in the heart of Munich, an Afghan man drove his Mini Cooper into a crowd, injuring 36 people, including a two-year-old girl now in intensive care. Prosecutors revealed that the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Farhad N., admitted to the attack, which appears to have been religiously motivated.  

### **Attack and Investigation**  

The attack occurred near Munich Central Station, where the suspect deliberately drove into a group participating in a labor union protest. Witnesses reported that he shouted “Allahu Akbar” upon arrest, leading prosecutors to classify the act as an Islamist-motivated attack.  

Despite the severity of the incident, police found no links between Farhad N. and any jihadist groups. He acted alone, with no prior criminal record. Investigations revealed that he had lived in Germany legally since 2016 despite having his asylum request denied.

The attack comes just ten days before Germany’s federal elections, where immigration remains a heated topic. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the scene, expressing his shock and condolences. Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, in Munich for the Security Conference, extended his sympathies to the victims.
