Netanyahu’s Spokesperson Ofir Golan Under Investigation for Document Leak

On February 11, 2025, Israeli media reported that Ofir Golan, the spokesperson for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has become the latest suspect in the case involving leaked classified documents from the Prime Minister’s Office.

According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation “Kan,” Golan was interrogated on Sunday by Lahav 443, a special investigations unit, regarding the unauthorized transfer of sensitive government documents to the German newspaper *Bild*.

### Widening Investigation

The case has expanded to include other key figures. Reports indicate that Eliezer Feldstein, a military spokesperson in Netanyahu’s office, allegedly provided public relations services for Qatar while serving in the government. This raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest within the administration.

Additionally, Jonathan Urich, a close adviser to Netanyahu, was also questioned on Sunday. Prosecutors are expected to decide soon whether to file formal charges against him. Evidence suggests that Urich coordinated the document leak, instructing Feldstein to pass the materials to his associate, Yisrael Einhorn, who was responsible for ensuring their publication abroad. However, Einhorn has not been interrogated yet, as he currently resides outside Israel.

### Political and Security Implications

The allegations have sparked debates about internal security breaches and the role of Netanyahu’s inner circle in handling sensitive state information. If formal charges are filed, this case could have significant political consequences, further complicating the Israeli government’s ongoing legal and political challenges.

As investigations continue, the public awaits further details on the extent of the leaks and whether they were orchestrated with higher-level approval.
