Russia Sets Conditions for Talks with the U.S. on Ukraine  

Russia has expressed **openness to dialogue with the United States** regarding the Ukraine conflict but insists that any negotiations must be based on **equality and respect for Russian interests.**  

## **Nebenzya’s Statement on U.S.-Russia Relations**  

Russia’s **Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya**, stated in an interview with **RIA Novosti** that Moscow is **willing to engage in discussions with Washington** but only under conditions that ensure **mutual respect and consideration of Russian concerns.**  

> **"We are indeed open to dialogue, but only on an equal footing, with Russian interests taken into account. We are waiting for appropriate signals from the U.S. side,"** Nebenzya said.  

He emphasized that **Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly proposed discussing all issues of mutual concern calmly, based on current realities on the ground.**  

## **Russia Awaits U.S. Signals**  

Nebenzya also pointed out that diplomacy requires cooperation from both sides:  

> **"A tango requires two dancers. Our willingness alone is not enough—it will depend largely on the decisions made by Donald Trump’s administration."**  

His comments come amid speculation about the **future of U.S.-Russia relations** following reports of **a potential call between Putin and Trump**, which **Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov declined to confirm.**
