The Israeli Channel 14 has reported an increase in the number of injuries from the shooting attack at the Tayasir checkpoint in the northern Jordan Valley, with eight individuals wounded, including two in critical condition. The attacker was killed in the incident.  

Earlier reports from Israel’s Channel 12 indicated that six people were injured in the attack near the Tayasir checkpoint, which is located in Tubas Governorate, northern West Bank. The Israeli emergency services later confirmed that the number of injured had risen to eight, intensifying tensions in the area.  

### **Details of the Attack**  

According to an Israeli military spokesperson, a Palestinian gunman opened fire on an Israeli military site in the Tayasir area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Menashe Brigade (Jenin). The gunfire resulted in multiple injuries among Israeli personnel. In response, the soldiers returned fire, ultimately killing the attacker.  

Israeli media outlets, including *Yedioth Ahronoth*, reported that the attack took place in a heavily militarized zone where the Israeli army frequently conducts operations. The attacker reportedly approached the checkpoint, took cover inside a watchtower, and engaged in an armed confrontation with Israeli forces before being neutralized.  

### **Escalating Tensions in the Region**  

Eyewitness reports confirmed the presence of an Israeli military helicopter in the area, which was deployed to evacuate the wounded for medical treatment.  

The northern Jordan Valley, particularly the Tubas Governorate, has been a hotspot for ongoing security tensions. Israeli forces regularly conduct military operations in the region, leading to intermittent clashes with Palestinian residents.  

This incident is part of a broader escalation in the West Bank, highlighting the volatile security situation and the continued confrontations between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants.
