"Trump Congratulates German Conservatives on Election Victory"
US President Donald Trump congratulated the conservative bloc in Germany on their victory in the parliamentary elections. Trump wrote on his Truth Social account that the German people were tired of policies lacking common sense, particularly regarding energy and immigration.
"This is a great day for Germany and the United States," Trump added, concluding, "I congratulate everyone - there will be more victories in the future."
According to exit polls, the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Christian Social Union (CSU) bloc won the German parliamentary elections with 29%. The polls also indicated that the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party came in second with 19.5%, while the Social Democratic Party (SPD) took third place with 16%.
