U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Accuses FBI of Leaking Secret Immigration Raid Plans

FBI Under Fire Over Alleged Document Leak

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has accused the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of leaking classified documents related to a massive immigration raid planned in Los Angeles. The accusation follows a report by the Los Angeles Times, which cited secret documents revealing that a major crackdown on undocumented immigrants was scheduled before the end of February 2025.

According to the report, immigration officers were expected to receive support from local FBI agents and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to carry out the operation.

Kristi Noem’s Reaction and FBI’s Alleged Involvement

Reacting to the article on X (formerly Twitter), Noem stated:

"The FBI is deeply corrupt. We will work with any and all agencies to stop these leaks and prosecute these deep-state operatives to the fullest extent of the law."

Interestingly, the Los Angeles Times did not explicitly name the FBI as the source of the leak.

Trump’s Frustration Over Immigration Enforcement

The FBI controversy comes amid growing tensions within the Trump administration regarding immigration enforcement. According to NBC News, former President Donald Trump has expressed frustration over the slow pace of deportations, believing that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is not removing enough undocumented immigrants from the U.S.

Reports indicate that Trump conveyed his dissatisfaction directly to Thomas Homan, the official overseeing border security and deportations, as well as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Tougher Immigration Measures Under Trump’s Return

Since Trump’s return to the White House, border security efforts have intensified. According to official statements, illegal border crossings have dropped by 93%, and ICE has detained approximately 1,100 individuals per day since Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025.

However, to meet Trump’s goal of deporting at least one million migrants annually, ICE would need to expel over 2,700 undocumented immigrants daily.

Political and Legal Implications

The allegations against the FBI add another layer of political controversy to the immigration debate. If proven true, the leak of sensitive documents could compromise law enforcement operations, further fueling Republican claims about a "deep state" working against Trump’s policies.

With immigration expected to be a major issue in the 2025 political landscape, this incident is likely to intensify partisan conflicts over border security and law enforcement transparency.
