A devastating explosion occurred in the city of Al-Bukamal in eastern Syria, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuring 20 others, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA). The blast, whose cause remains unknown, took place at the entrance of the city, located in the Deir ez-Zor governorate.
SANA reported that Syrian Civil Defense teams responded to the scene, retrieving the bodies of the victims, transporting the injured, and extinguishing the fire caused by the explosion. The blast also damaged a fuel station at the site.
Photos released by SANA showed the aftermath of the explosion, with flames engulfing the area and Civil Defense teams working to put out the fire.
Al-Bukamal is a strategic city located on the western bank of the Euphrates River, near the Syrian-Iraqi border.
