Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has expressed his support for the United States' withdrawal from the United Nations (UN) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). In a comment on a post on the X platform, Musk stated, "I'm in favor."
This statement comes after Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced a bill to the US Senate that proposes the US withdrawal from the UN and cessation of funding. The bill aims to completely withdraw the US from the UN and its affiliated organizations, effectively ending US funding.
Additionally, the bill seeks to repeal the UN Headquarters Agreement Act, which grants the UN the right to maintain its official headquarters in New York City. The bill would also revoke diplomatic immunity for UN officials in the US.
