Iran: Two Basij Forces Killed in Terrorist Attack in Southeastern Province
Iran announced on Friday that two members of the Basij forces were killed in a terrorist attack in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan. The attack occurred in the city of Saravan, where the two victims, Sadegh Mahmoudi and Milad Damankesh, were returning home from work in a private vehicle.
According to the Public Relations Department of the "Quds" base of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the two Basij forces were "martyred" by "terrorist agents" while they were on their way home. The department announced that an operation has been launched to pursue and arrest the terrorists.
The city of Saravan is located in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan, 347 kilometers southeast of Zahedan, the provincial capital. The province shares a border with Pakistan.
