"Israeli Military Announces Airstrike on Syrian Military Site in Qardaha"

The Israeli military announced on Monday that it had carried out an airstrike on a Syrian military site in the city of Qardaha. The strike targeted a site used for storing military equipment, according to the Israeli military.

In a statement, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said that the strike was carried out in response to recent developments in the region. "The IDF [Israel Defense Forces] has been monitoring the situation on the Syrian front and will take all necessary measures to protect Israeli citizens," Adraee added.

The Syrian state news agency SANA reported that Israeli warplanes had carried out airstrikes on the outskirts of Tartous, without causing any casualties. Syrian civil defense teams and other authorities were working to confirm the location of the strikes, SANA added.

The Syrian newspaper Al-Watan reported that a strong explosion had been heard near Tartous, with smoke rising from the area of the Balaata bridge. The newspaper speculated that the Israeli strike may have targeted a military point near the bridge.

This is not the first time that Israel has carried out airstrikes on Syrian territory. Last Tuesday, Israeli warplanes targeted the outskirts of Damascus, with videos posted online showing the airstrikes.
