Syrian Army Reinforcements Head to Jableh Region to Support Security Forces

Damascus, SANA - The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that massive military reinforcements are heading to the Jableh region and its countryside to support the security forces and restore stability to the area.

According to a source at the Ministry of Defense, "the army forces will be working alongside the security forces to absorb the attack launched by the remnants of the former Syrian regime's militias on several areas in a unified manner."

Earlier in the day, SANA reported that "groups of remnants of the former Syrian regime launched an attack on a security checkpoint near the city of Jableh, targeting civilians' cars."

Local officials in Latakia province stated that "our forces are imposing a security cordon to besiege the remnants of the ousted regime in the villages of Beit Aanana and Al-Daliah."

The village of Beit Aanana in the Latakia countryside witnessed gunfire targeting a security car, resulting in the death of a security member and the injury of others.

A Syrian security source stated that 13 members of the security forces and civilians were killed in an ambush by regime remnants in the vicinity of Jableh.
